On June 28, the technical review meeting for the “Report on Flood‑Routing Feasibility and River‑Course Stability Assessment for the Foundation Scour Remediation Project of the Mianshan Super‑Bridge at K492+458 on the Chengdu–Kunming Railway,” undertaken by Sichuan Jiayuan Ecological Development Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Xichang. Following careful deliberation, questioning, and discussion by the attending experts, the report was unanimously approved, marking a significant milestone in the project’s preliminary studies and laying a solid technical foundation for the subsequent implementation of the works.

　　The remediation project is located in Mianshan Town, Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, spanning the Shengou River. Field investigations indicate that, at piers 7 through 10 of the Mianshan Super‑Bridge, the riverbed cross‑section has been significantly incised compared with its as‑built condition, posing a potential threat to the safety of the pier foundations. The proposed remediation plan employs an integrated approach, including the construction of new concrete paving and bed‑stabilizing ridges, to effectively curb the ongoing downward erosion of the riverbed, reinforce the soil surrounding the pier foundations, and comprehensively enhance the structural stability of the bridge. Upon completion, the project will substantially ensure the safe operation of the Chengdu–Kunming Railway, safeguard the lives and property of local residents along the line, and deliver significant social and economic benefits.
